Hercules and 50049
Defiance at different stages during the Festive York & Durham Explorer tour run by
Pathfinder Tours.
The tour carried people wishing to visit the historic towns of York and Durham. The tour started at Bristol Temple Meads and went to Newcastle via Kidderminster and Birmingham New Street.
On the return leg the two Class 50s were detached at Worcester Shrub Hill and replaced by locomotive 67740
Sarah which worked the final leg of the tour back to Bristol. Total distance covered by the Class 50s was 538 miles for the one-day trip.
