Royal Scots Grey attended the March 2010 diesel gala at the
East Lancashire Railway.
This was the first outing for 50008 since it was repainted back into the 'Laira blue' livery it once carried during its final years of service whilst allocated to the Laira DCWA Civil Engineer's pool in British Rail.
The locomotives provided turns from Heywood to Rawtenstall.

Royal Scots Grey attended the July 2010 diesel gala.
The locomotives all worked various turns between Heywood and Rawtenstall with the highlight being all three Class 50s triple-heading at the end of the day.
