Whilst operating with British Rail (BR) all locomotives had a locomotive repair book placed in one of the cabs. In these, drivers would list problems or faults they had found with a locomotive whilst in service requiring rectification by maintenance staff back at a depot.
This example is the last one issued to 50047
Swiftsure in March 1988. The
final entry lists the failure between Liss and Liphook resulting in it being withdrawn from service.
